Steely Dan to Reissue Aja on Vinyl with Fresh Analog Remaster
Steely Dan are reissuing their 1977 album Aja on vinyl for the first time in more than four decades.
To mark the occasion, the album was “meticulously” remastered by Bernie Grundman from an analog, non-EQ’d, tape copy. The end result will be available on 180-gram black vinyl beginning September 29th via Geffen/UMe. Pre-orders are now ongoing.
Additionally, a limited-edition 45 RPM version of Aja pressed on Ultra High-Quality Vinyl (UHQR) will be released by Analogue Productions.
The Aja reissue is part of a multi-year archival campaign launched by founding member Donald Fagen in 2022. The band previously re-released their albums Can’t Buy a Thrill, Countdown to Ecstasy, and Pretzel Logic, and have plans to unveil further reissues over the next year.
Beginning next month, Steely Dan will join The Eagles as the opening act on their farewell tour. Tickets are available here.
