Sarah Silverman chats with Kyle Meredith about her new comedy album Someone You Love, her love for songwriting, and her relationship with Frightened Rabbit’s Scott Hutchison.

The multi-hyphenate discusses her favorite comedy albums, from Steve Martin to Robin Williams, as well as her thoughts on the resurgence of physical media. “I think people like vinyl because of the cracks and imperfections,” Silverman says, “because that’s when they [had] their hearts exploded for music.”

Regarding the songwriting side of her talents, she touches on “Something to Tell You,” which she wrote for Howard Stern and performed with The Chicks’ Natalie Maines. As a friend of the late Hutchison, Silverman also performed on the tribute album Tiny Changes. “He helped me get out of a downward spiral,” she says. “It’s just his music has such a different meaning now and sometimes it’s too hard to listen to, but I love it so much.”
