Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds Feel the Pressure in Welcome to Wrexham Season 2 Trailer: Watch
FX has unveiled the trailer for Season 2 of Welcome to Wrexham, the soccer docuseries from Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds. It’s set to return September 12th on Hulu.
Welcome to Wrexham follows McElhenney and Reynolds as they become the unlikely new ringleaders of an underdog Welsh football club Wrexham A.F.C. Things were off to a great start in Season 1, until the team were subject to a painful elimination in the playoffs.
But their loss isn’t crushing their spirits entirely: Season 2 picks things up as McElhenney and Reynolds continue to fight for Wrexham and return them to glory. Meanwhile, they’re also facing the pressure of having the world’s eyes on them: “The burden isn’t just winning and getting out of this [semi-pro] league,” Reynolds says in the trailer. “It’s never letting down this community.”
Tears will be shed, pints will be consumed, and — King Charles will give our Hollywood heroes a phone call? See the trailer for Welcome to Wrexham Season 2 below.
Outside of Wrexham, McElhenney recently returned to It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia for its 16th season, while Reynolds will reprise his role as the titular anti-hero in Deadpool 3 next year.
