Aerosmith Play First Show in Over Two Years: Video + Setlist
Aerosmith played their first show in over two and a half years on Sunday (September 4th) at the Maine Savings Amphitheater in Bangor, Maine.
It marked the first show for the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers since the pandemic started, and the first since singer Steven Tyler entered rehab earlier this year. Prior to Sunday’s gig, their last public performance was in February 2020 as part of “Deuces Are Wild” Las Vegas residency.
Appropriately, Sunday’s set opened with “Back in the Saddle” — the first of many classics including “Sweet Emotion,” “Dream On,” and “Walk This Way.” The evening also included the band’s cover versions of Peter Green-era Fleetwood Mac (“Stop Messin’ Around”), The Shangri-Las (“Remember” [Walking in the Sand]”), and Bull Moose Jackson (“Big Ten Inch Record”).
Aerosmith have another one-off performance slated for Thursday (September 8th) at Fenway Park in Boston. The band will then return to Las Vegas for its rescheduled “Deuces Are Wild” residency beginning September 14th at Park MGM’s Dolby Live.
The extensive residency was originally set to resume in June, but was postponed after frontman Steven Tyler checked into rehab in late May. Tickets to Aerosmith’s upcoming shows are available via Ticketmaster.
