John Wick Prequel Series The Continental Gets First Trailer: Watch
Peacock has shared the first official trailer for The Continental: From the World of John Wick, the three-part prequel series that acts as an origin story for the infamous assassin refuge. Check it out below.
Set in 1970s New York City, The Continental stars Colin Woodell as a young Winston Scott, detailing how, exactly, he came to run a neutral territory for killers-for-hire. As Mel Gibson — making yet another unfortunate return to acting — explains, Scott’s brother Frankie stole something important to the “sacred institution,” drawing the ire of its dangerous guests. Scott is then tasked with returning the mysterious item — though, as the trailer suggests, it’s unclear whether he’s willing to turn his back on Frankie.
The Continental was helmed by writers and executive producers Greg Coolidge, Kirk Ward, and Shawn Simmons. In addition to Woodell and Gibson, Mishel Prada, Ben Robson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Nhung Kate, Jessica Allain, Ayomide Adegun, Jeremy Bobb, and Peter Greene round out the series’ cast. The first installment of the project premieres on Peacock on Friday, September 22nd, with Night 2 following on September 29th and Night 3 on October 6th.
John Wick Chapter 4, the last installment in the beloved action franchise, arrived in March. Revisit our interview with Hiroyuki Sanada about working alongside Rina Sawayama in the film.
